We work passionately to address the skills shortages in research-intensive knowledge work and the unequal distribution of such talent globally.
Why 3E and 7E?
3E is an acronym for
- Entrepreneurship, Enterprise Development, and Employability skills,
which are key goals of higher education. They are also part of a larger repertoire of 7E skills which properly trained and high-performing knowledge workers should possess, namely:
- Expertise, Experience, Entrepreneurship, Enterprise Development, Employability, Emotional Intelligence, Engagement/Execution.
Addressing the unequal distribution of talent globally
We experience a culture shock on the part of international students from developing countries like Nigeria, Libya, and Ghana who arrive UK to do postgraduate studies (MBA, MSc, and PhD).
This shock is about adjusting to the expectations of critical independent learning which they are not properly prepared for, given the gaps in university education and lack of resources in those environments.
It impoverishes their learning and saps their confidence, leading to poor grades in coursework and difficulties making significant progress in projects, dissertations and theses.
Sometimes academics from those environments need upskilling in their capacities to conduct critically original and meaningful research during and after their PhD training.
