Creating entrepreneurial universities in Nigeria and Africa
The AFRIHERO Capacity Building Programme applies theoretical and practical research results from the core research programmes to socio-economic development problems of African countries.
The programme results are also widely disseminated to other developing countries. Fundamentally, the activities:
- adopt a research-based approach vital to full problem understanding;
- encompass specific projects that address identified stakeholder needs directly at local levels;
- roll out field knowledge gained in local interventions to national, regional and continental levels, typically in the form of strategic conferences and workshops.
- critically review world development events to distil potential high-impact programmes which will enable Africa to close unhealthy gaps between its knowledge base/practices and that of developed countries.
AFRIHERO Capacity Building activities in HEIs are intensely focused on the following key areas:
- Staff Development;
- Developing Entrepreneurship and Employability Skills;
- Upgrading Teaching and Research Quality;
- Curriculum Development;
- Joint Degrees/Split PhD Programmes;
- Collaborative Partnerships in MSc/PhD Programmes;
- Related Staff/Student Exchange.
